Our Passions as Elks

Veterans

The Elks are committed to their mission, “So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.”

The Fort Worth Elks Lodge supports Guitars for Heroes, Homeless Veterans, the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War Commemoration, as well as our support to veterans of all wars and conflicts.

Children

Texas Elks support nearly 350 special needs children every summer. Any child with a special need, between the ages of 7 and 15, who is a resident of the state of Texas is eligible for admission to Texas Elks Camp.  Texas Elks Childrens Services Inc is a 501(c)3, tax exempt number 74-2584826. You can download the IRS Determination Letter here.

Elks Camp has been serving special needs children since 1987. Children who meet criteria are able to attend at no cost. At Texas Elks camp the number one rule is to have fun! In addition, Texas Elks award over four hundred twenty five thousand dollars in Special Grants for Special Children to deserving Texas children with various special physical needs. Our desire is to improve the current and future quality of life for children with special physical needs.

Community

Through Elks Community Investments Program, we provide back to the community with our grants. Each year, Elks provide over $12 million in Elks communities across the country through Lodges to meet local needs.

Our Lodge acquires grants for community projects, such as:

  • Each year a Special Needs Prom to support graduating seniors along with all of their high school classmates and all alumnus.
  • Raised garden beds for a Heather's Old Skool Village (HOSV), a 501(c)3, whose purpose is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for individuals with disabilities.
  • Guitar for Heroes – providing free guitars and music training to veterans suffering from PTSD.
  • Children's Christmas Party for children who live in foster homes or come from at-risk communities.
